Losing Weight – Does This Question Keep You Awake For The Whole Night?

If there is one wish that will pass through everyone’s lips one time or another, it maybe to lose weight and lose weight fast. Being overweight and worse obese has become the problem of some 58 million people and 40 million people respectively. Another 3 million people belong to the morbidly obese. The World Health Organization has set the benchmark of 25 BMI as overweight and a 30 BMI as obese. BMI or Body Mass Index is a measurement that compares the weight versus the height of an individual.

Obesity And Health Problem:

ObesityBeing overweight and obese in not just an aesthetic problem but is a rather serious problem. Obesity increases the chances of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke due to high cholesterol, high triglycerides and high blood pressure, certain types of cancer like prostate, colon, rectum, uterus, breast and ovaries. In fact being obese is one of the leading preventable causes of death not just in adults but also in children. There are around 43 million children under the age of 5 that are considered obese. Obesity is a problem that is always associated with the western world but experts believe that by 2015 overweight people will reach 2.3 million and some 700 million will be considered obese worldwide.

Steps To Be Followed To Solve The Weight Loss Issue :

Many have taken steps to address their weight problems, creating an industry for weight loss products, weight loss diet pills, diet plans and exercise. Some of these programs even promise that an individual will reach their ideal weight in a certain amount of time or promise that their product is the best diet supplement for weight loss and for losing weight quickly. Television has programs that declare the one who loses the most weight the winner using extreme fat loss workouts with personal trainers screaming down there backs. Many have been inspired to work out, go on diets but some have found that beginning and sticking to a weight loss program can be difficult. But there are some tried and true basics that can help with one’s goal.

There are three basic things that are necessary for losing weight and keeping the weight off are considered the most effective weight loss tips around.

These are keeping a balanced diet and avoid starving one’s self, keeping a regular work-out and having a strong determination. Without these basics, it would be difficult, even impossible to stop being overweight and turning obese. After all, it takes a mere 3 points to turn from being overweight to obese, that even doctors have been caught unawares. It is a common misconception that in order to lose weight, one has to stop eating. Starving the body is not only detrimental to one’s health but will only awaken the body’s starvation mode button, resulting to the body storing fat in order for it to survive. Being hungry will also weaken the body’s stamina and energy as well as metabolism, causing the body to store more fat. Starving is not part of the healthy diet tips to lose weight. Weight loss may register on the scale but it is not fat that is being lost but muscle. Having no energy from being always hungry, working out will be a struggle. Many have started a diet on Monday only to go back on binging on Friday. Having a strong determination is one important aspect on turning to a healthier lifestyle. Start with the right basics, eat right, exercise and be firm and follow healthy ways to lose weight. The road to reaching one’s ideal weight may be not as farfetched as it’s seemed.
